Marybeth Spector, Yoga Instructor
Marybeth Spector

I am certified as a viniyoga instructor with more than 500 hours of teacher training, and a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance.

A third-generation West Seattle native, I've traveled the world as a professional dancer, model and leather tailor. I began studying and practicing yoga in my teens, and it has since been one of the constants in my life. It was something that I could do for myself that was always the same, always comfortable – no matter what hotel room or what country I was in.

In the 1980s, I developed what is now called "multiple chemical sensitivities" or MCS. Through the use of naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and this therapeutic style of yoga, I now have my life back, and am able to travel for study and pleasure. I can entertain, go shopping, and enjoy life in this special part of the world.

I have spoken on my personal experience of living with MCS at Bastyr University and various workshops throughout Puget Sound.

As I began incorporating nature into my own yoga practice, I expanded the idea to my classes as well. My students enjoy the view of the natural world from the studio in my home, meditational walks in my garden, and contemplative walks through the old-growth forest only three blocks away.

My style is gentle, relaxing and therapeutic.

I enjoy the personalized experience of teaching individuals and small groups, and sharing my healing experiences.
